Aarrrgh New cdrw not working
« on: July 02, 2002, 05:02:30 am »

Have just purchased a new Lite 32123s 32x12x40.. installed it
as follows .. Secondary IDE to Cd Rom then to cdwr (slave)
Down loaded MJ V8 and reconfigured settings(enable/disable) for Win 98 SE.
MJ recognises the writer.. Its on the list.. but when I go into properties it comes up as D drive not E. I tried to reset but no go
It shows it on the device manager as E .. so what the problem you may say..
The cdwr will not recognise any cd placed in it.. The response is
Error There is no cd in the device or it is not ready.Place cd in the device and try again... AAARRGGH
Has anyone any ideas ? Help

Not that this will fix your problem, but it's usually recommended to make the CD writer the "master" and the cd-rom the "slave" if they share an IDE channel.

Try uninstalling MJ and choose "remove registry entries", then try re-installing.

Let me know if this helps.
