analyzing .M4A/AAC files - possible
« on: January 26, 2010, 10:34:25 am »

Is there some way to get audio analysis data for .m4a and .aac files? If not, could it be included in the future?

These files can be be analyzed, unless you mean something else by "analyzing".

<snigger>!

However, in the context of audio analysis, when I choose a group of these files to analyse, I get an error message about files that can be played in the native playback engine. I don't know what that means, so perhaps you could explain how to do it...

You should be able to do what you want if you install the DC-Bass Source filter and set the m4a file type to use it. Here is more info: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=55606.msg377942;topicseen#msg377942

Thanks Alex. Got it sorted. It took me a while to realise that the settings are now in Tools>Options>File Types, but all is well now.  ;D
