Install Failed to Load Error - Options.xml

<< < (2/9) > >>

randallreid:
Hi; I just did a fresh installed  of14.0.98 and upgraded online to 14.0.130.  I entered my registration key and then restored my old library which was created with 14.0.98.  Everything seemed to work properly except some of my video's showed up with a small "X" over the thumbnail.

I determined that one of my USB hard disks had changed from "I:\" to "J:\" so one of my libraries was not where media center thought it should be.  So I reassigned the USB drive back to "I:\" with system administration tools.

After restarting media center I get the following error message:

The following module has failed to load:
C:\Program Files\JRiver\Media Center 14\JRService.exe
It has reported the following error:
A JRiver Media Core component failed to load the product info file:
C:\Program Files\JRiver\Media Center 14\Data\Default Resources\Options.xml
Please reinstall the latest version of the program

Any help would be appreciated.

That's the second one of these we've seen lately.  Perhaps something is going on...

Download build 14.0.137 from the thread at the top of this forum and try installing that.  If it still won't launch, try going to Add/Remove Programs and completely uninstalling MC.  Then reboot.  Then install MC using the newly downloaded build setup program.

Thanks gylnor;

I tried both your suggestions and still have the same problem!

1. Upgraded to latest beta and restarted media center.  Same popup errors appeared (many times)

2. Uninstalled, rebooted, installed beta again.  No difference, still got multiple popup errors.

Strange... but the install didn't ask for my registration either time?  In both cases media center crashes after several of these error messages.

I noticed that many of the VIDEO_TS JRSideCar.xml files show parse errors when I try to open them with a browser (like opera).  I don't know if this is important.

I just thought of something.  When I uninstalled media center I didn't delete the library.  Should I try this?  Will this actually delete my media files too?

Are you sure it is not a common problem? I am facing the same issue.

The version 136 did not change something for me. I tried to uninstall and reboot, but again no change.
