FFDShow honks like a goose
« on: February 16, 2010, 08:38:17 pm »

When doing 5.1 AC3 decoding with FFDShow for high definition television playback, I often get a honk-like noise when seeking right before the audio starts again.  It lasts a tiny fraction of a second.

I don't think it happens with AC3Filter.  And I've heard it with a few soundcards, so I don't think it's hardware.

Has anyone else noticed this?  Is there any way around it?

Thanks for any help.

I haven't but computers are computers.  Just curious if you download ffdshow tryout or if you downloaded it with CCCP?

Also, is it the same result with and without TS on?

With FFDShow Tryouts (latest Beta) I do get a drop out for a fraction of a second. I can see it drop out on my reciever. Depending out your your output hardware maybe that is sounding like a "honk"? I don't remember this happening with older versions, but I could be wrong.

I haven't looked for a solution, but if you do find one, let me know... :) I'm currently trying to get vobsub working with FFDShow DXVA Decoder...
