Adding a filetype
« on: February 23, 2010, 03:14:37 pm »

I am trying to add a filetype to thelist of video files the media library is listing, it currently finds .mkv, .avi ect. but i want it to display my .iso files as well in that view as opposed to them being in documents.

.iso file type is categorized under Data > Disk Image Files (iso, img, nrg)

Once imported, you can change the Media Type field (or change your views to include video or iso files).

Matt,

Thank you for your response. Now please assume I am new to the software and have no idea how to do what you have suggested. My .iso files have imported and are under Documents/Files. I need them to appear with the .mkv, .avi files under Video, how do I accomplish this.

Josh

Under Documents, select the ISO files.

Then either:

1) Add the "Media Type" column to the view (right-click the column header)
2) Rename the "Media Type" for the selected files to "Video" (F2, right-click > Rename)

OR

1) Click "Tag" in the Action Window at the lower left
2) Show the "Media Type" field if it isn't showing (using tools icon at top left of tag window or right-click)
3) Change "Media Type" to "Video"

Let us know if that does the trick.

Thanks.

Thank you so much that problem is resolved. Now issue number two for me is that I need to increase the font size of the videos that are listed so that someone sitting 20 feet away can read the words on the tv, have not seen anything that would allow a change in font size, any suggestions?

There is a font option in MC Standard View and a size option (120%, for example) in Theater View.  Try a search in the options window.

Make sure you try Theater View.  It's available on the View menu (or with F11, the green button, etc.)
