Why does MJ disable DSP & effects for streaming audio?

I usually listen to a radio station online, and recently found out the URL to be able to listen to it on MJ. It all works fine, except that MJ turns off the excelent DSP effects I'm used to, when streaming Windows Media...

Is this a bug or an unavoidable problem?
