Kudos on the sound quality

I don't know what you have done to improve the sound quality in 15.  It is very noticeable.

For all the audio fans, it is worth the price of the upgrade for the improved sound quality alone.

What did you guys do?

Would you mind sharing what operation system you are running on? And using Asio or?

Sure glad to hear that a good thing is getting even better!

Thanks,
Rod

I am not doing anything special.  I am using the default "primary sound driver," no dsp effects, and the out put mode "direct sound".  I've upgraded from 12 and it was immediately noticeable.
I find a greater depth in the sound quality even on my cheap pc speakers.

I still run XP.  I'm not willing to go through all the hassle to upgrade to 7.  I plan to start migrating to Linux when I have some time to focus on it.

Actually MC12 was already perfect, meaning that when all settings that can affect sound quality (in any direction) are disabled the output is completely unaltered, aka "bit-perfect".

MC15 doesn't change that.

If you can hear an obvious difference, one or more settings are set differently (or possibly the interaction with an external component like a DirectShow filter or the sound card driver happens differently).

I hope you have uninstalled MC12 so that you can't double-check the settings. I don't want to break the nice illusion. :)

Be aware MC is not linux compatible...

I haven't uninstalled 12 yet.  I did go back and look more closely.  I have volume leveling set in 12 and I do not have it set in 15.  I am still enjoying the improved sound quality.

I am aware that MC does not run under Linux.  MC is the only reason I haven't switched so far.  However some have been sucessful in keeping MC and running an XP under Linux.  The key now is to have a block of time to just do it.

You might try WINE, it allows you to run Win programs on Linux

MC15 isn't going to work on Wine. Just use a virtual XP.
