4:3 YouTube videos are stretched vertically and cut off

For some reason when I elect to play 4:3 YouTube videos inside the player, the video seems stretched and I'm only seeing the top half of the video.

If I play an HD YouTube video it appears normally.  I've played around with settings but haven't figured out how to resolve it.   Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Note:  If I choose to download the video and play it, it plays properly.
