Hi all,
I just wanna say hi and get some simple help.

If it works, Ill gladly support this app, so far pretty darn good app. (I cant find ANYTHING that can do what J River does)

Question:
Does J River record from internet radio that I'm listening to ?

If yes, how ?

I have played with various settings already and so far there is a message "error encoding"

I went through the list of mp3, wav, wmp, etc but still shows the error message.

Or should I use an external Wave recorder ?

Please help if you can, I really hope this player can do it.

But i don't remmember exactly how i have do this but you need to go in the scheduler i think.

Hi,

If you navigate to Audio/Connected Media

Right click gives you Add Website.

Add your radio station url i.e

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/bbclondon.asx

and give it a name.

When you click on the new link a menu appears to record, play etc.

yep for the button but there's an option for auto record all the flux ( i remember the first time i have recorded with MC all the flux where recorded in a folder XD) or choose what flux to record.
I go to record some iradio too ^^
Good to have purchased it  mc is really excellent and i am an old foobar user

Kurushi, um, er, what is flux ?

I tried Ross's way, but it doesn't always work for some reason. I did try various links multiple times.

Maybe I'm being picky, but it would be really nice to have a simpler way to record, like a record button on the menu bar, hey, or even right click menu???

Oh, when selecting [> TOOLS > ADVANCED TOOLS > RECORD SOUND] it doesnt record.

Is this feature for something else, like why not radio stream recording.

Some feature like "record what you hear" comes to mind

youre english is good enough kurushi. clearer then that of a few native english speakers. flux is also an english term, like in the movie aeon flux. and the meaning of flux is not far of from stream. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flux

Flux or stream, the OP should appreciate recording (or playing) them is not as trivial as it may seem. In some cases, it might be easier to implement a flux capacitor. Many (most?) web media sources would rather you listened to them using their website, and probably don't want you to record at all. So stream URL's are hidden and web players (e.g., flash, WMP) are used. Usually, the stream URL can be discovered by examining a redirector file used in the link provided, or using a sniffer to detect the stream. But these are not things the program can do.

I don't fully understand how these things work, so I too have asked, "If I can hear it, why can't I record it?" I think the answer is I can, but if it is being played by a browser plugin, perhaps only by recording what's coming from the sound card. There are tools for doing that, but it's a lousy way to record. I haven't yet found much need to record streams. I assume—if I have the correct URL of the stream—I can enter that in the Scheduler, and that will record it for the specified time period. A quick test, however, suggests this works for MP3 and OGG, but not ASF streams. That's a bit sad, as ASF quite common (bad MS!).

Well right now I'm exploring MC 15, and would be very interested as to what the dev team may have up their sleeves
