Video Files will not sync with iPod Classic
« on: May 14, 2010, 11:49:18 am »

This is working with the same content in MC14, but whenever MC15 synchronizes to my iPod Classic 160, any video files result in "error" status. Conversion is turned on, and set t iPod naive.

My system info dump is below:

Bump..

Is this problem isolated to me? If not, is it on the radar anywhere? I could probably figure out a workaround, but I'd rather not if it's being addressed. Thanks.

Scratch all that - I figured it out myself.

Turns out that I had a ffdmpeg.exe in my Plugins folder, which in itself isn't strange. I tried deleting it, and then did a resync - voila it's working!. MC did put another ffdmpeg in there, but it's dated 2007 and is about half the size. ... Not digging any further - I'm just happy it works.

Cheers

Interesting, thanks for the report. Had you done any manual modification of that file, maybe for testing DLNA video??

Not a all. It's possible that it got upgraded a while back, but that's all I can think of. The only mofdification that I had done (before upgrading to 15) was to change the xml config file to support 16x9 aspect ratio videos

When you deleted the exe MC probably reloaded both the exe and xml file. All I can think of is that a previous version didn't support the same commands in the xml as the current version? Do you still have your 16x9 support in the xml? I'd think that'd be gone.

It was gone - but I've readded it, and it appears to be working now. I'm guessing that MC supports that specific version of the app.
