database read only mode
« on: May 07, 2010, 06:46:06 am »

Yesterday when trying to update some album art i got error messages saying the file was in use or unavailable.

Today when I start MC15 on the server machine (running library server and DLNA) I get a message I've never seen before:
This database will be opened in Read Only mode. Any changes will not be saved.

A little help here?

Would this have anything to do with the "allow multiple instances" check box in tools>options>general>advanced?

If you are running the server you have to open MC with the right click on the server tray icon or you will get that message if you use the short cut instead.

You know what, I think that was it.
I leave the shortcut for the wife. I'll have to figure out some other way for her.
Thanks.

There is a command line option to open MC in read only mode, when I was sharing the library I had the wife and kids machines use this to ensure I always had access.
