Add home button in Obsidian Touchscreen skin
« on: October 19, 2010, 04:35:26 pm »

Hi

I would add the Home button in the top bar in the Obsidian Touchscreen skin. I have selected the option Tools->Options->Theater View->Advanced->Show Home button, but it doesn't appear

Any idea?

Thanks in advanced

Sorry, but that option only applies to button-style skins, and button style skins are no longer supported.

I'm looking into adding support for it for roller based skins.

To make sure I understand, are you saying you'd like the word "Home" to appear to the left of "Back" on the top rollers?

Thanks.

Coming in build 136:
Fixed: Options > Theater View > Advanced > Show home button was not working.

This should be nice for touch screen use.

The option won't make much sense for a remote control user since pressing left to get to home will go back before you get a chance to choose home.

Thanks for your fast answer, Matt

Yes, I was talkingabout the "Home" word that appear to the left of "Back". It is really useful in touch screen. Without it, goes to main screen from some screens need press four of five times the "Back" button

I will wait for build 136

Thanks again

Thanks Matt! This makes it much easier to put one of my systems to sleep; it's touchscreen based and now it's just one step to get to the home menu.

The option won't make much sense for a remote control user since pressing left to get to home will go back before you get a chance to choose home.

Actually, it's kinda cool. Pressing left twice quickly will select Home. Or if in doubt (e.g., the cursor isn't on the roller), just press and hold Left until it returns home. It's quite different from Back if there are a number of levels of categories in the view.
