Hi,

I'm having trouble finding a setting that lets me change dual audio in an avi file.
Insteaqd, both of the streams are playing in two languages.

Is there a way to change sound streams of dual audio avi files?

I know there is a function in The Kmplayer...

This depends on playback options. Are you using a splitter for the media? Are you using ffdshow audio decoder? This will allow you to select the audio stream you want to use, but you have to configure it to do so - a simple checkbox in the options. Haali media splitter also allows you to select.

How can I choose between decoders?

Tools > Options > File Types

Select Video/AVI video (avi) and set Playback Method to "JRiver video engine (using DirectShow filters)".  Then you can select filters.  

If you choose Haali Media Splitter from Source Filters, you will be able to select an audio stream from right-click menu "Stream Selection".

Are you sure that Haali splitter can be recommended for avi?

I just tried it. The audio stream switcher was available, but vsfilter didn't load automatically like it does when the default Windows avi splitter is used* (and thus subtitles were not available).

Some other players show an internal stream switcher when avi files with more than one soundtrack are played.

Not really sure

I recommended it only because it seems to be the only option available (until I write an audio switcher filter myself) and it seems to work for me (and I did not take a closer look at subtitles).

I had that video clip that you linked, but I downloaded it again anyway.

Well, the files I had did not include the compressed (rar) file.  Without it, subtitles do not appear.  With freshly downloaded files (with all three files in the folder, avi, idx, rar), the subtitles do appear, either using AVI splitter (which results in all three audio streams playing), or Haali Media Splitter (which allows selection of an audio stream).
