Import from UNC path?
« on: May 16, 2010, 10:09:03 am »

Is it no longer possible to set up an import watch folder from a UNC path?

I seem to recall this being possible in older versions of MC.  I'd like to be able to manually type a UNC path from which MC should automatically watch for new media.  I used to be able to do this.  Now I just seem to get the controlled folder browser interface with no way to add a path manually.

I need this because some paths don't show up in the network browsing view but can be accessed just fine otherwise.

I use nothing but UNC paths and it works for me. I just tried and I can get to them by browsing for a network share (starting with \\) or by manually typing. What version of MC are you using? Any other details?

Using MC15.0.44

Tools -> Options -> Library & Folders -> Configure Auto-import -> Add -> Browse...

I'm presented with a dialog box that has no way to manually specify a location.  In previous versions of MC there used to be a text field in that browse window.  I used that to enter a UNC path, one that wasn't otherwise visible in the browsing lists.

Please being back this functionality.  Or at least provide some other way to edit the UNC path for a watched import folder.

Ditto here.  15.0.56

Can't type in the UNC location from the auto-import screen

I can type in to manually add a folder.

How about add a check box to add that manually typed folder to the import list?

thanks
