I have an error as multiple users on xp
« on: June 24, 2002, 12:06:11 pm »

Hi I use MJ 8.302 on xp.  It has always worked perfectly on my acct.  However, I installed on my wife's account yesterday in a different folder.  When she opens it up, there is basically a black interfaec.  You can pull up the import box which is black.  There is no text whatsoever in the program, just a black screen where the mj window is .  there is no top menu bar to close or print an error report.

anyone have this problem/ does this make sense?
Help!

Install the full version and the license for each user.

Hi Dave,

You should install it for each user that needs to access it, and all should use the same folder. Each user can than have it's own library, if you wish so

I had the same problem you are having. The "reinstall for every account trick" didn't work for me either. But, I did find something in the forums that did work for me...

Just need to go to regedit.

Locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver
Right click on the "JRiver" folder
Click on Export
Choose a location for the reg file. (A place that your other accounts can grab it)
After saving the file, switch over to the account you want to fix.
Locate the reg file that you saved and double click on it
Answer Yes to save the registry settings.

Run the registry file you made for all the accounts you want to use MJ on. Let us know if it worked out for you!

I deleted the account of both users and thenm reinstalled version 8.293 and it worked.
Here is a question though...
when I want to upgrade to 8.303 do I need to install in under one user or both?  MJ is in the same folder for both  users
thanks
