Last few days have been making mp3 cds for my new toy. Burning is going pretty much without a hitch. It's the read after a burn that causes MJ to start showing hidden demons.

Have MJ set to eject after a burn. Next I just close the tray and select an album from the freshly burned cd. The 'Please Wait' window comes up and doesn't go away. Now, maybe I'm funny this way, but shouldn't MJ be able to read what it just wrote? This is something that should be looked into.

Just checked, and yes MJ does take forever to view the disc. Problems though. For one of the folders MJ checked, I got this as a return...

Little bit of a difference if you ask me.

To make this disc I created a playlist. MJ burned the first several albums fine. However, the last couple of folders, which contain the music files, will not play on the same portable. Bad burn for some reason. Now, when I made a compilation disc, with many more different artists' it burned fine??

Would this be easier with a copy of the disc mailed to you for examination?

Whatever you guys did with the latest ( 8.0.309 ) seems to have cured, or killed, the demons that were present earlier. Just did another burn of the playlist on a cd-rw to make sure. Read time is now less then 10 seconds, versus 10 minutes. Honey took the car so I'll have to wait and see if the portable reads the latest burn. Before you ask, yes, it does support cd-rw.

More later. Mike
