DVD playback problem after removing winDVD + PowerDVD
(1/1)
Ilan:
Hi all.
My HTPC worked fine for more than a year, including JR13 Media Center software playing all media types.
Then: JR13 stopped playing DVDs located in my Hard drive, after I did the following sequence:
install PowerDVD,
install WinDVD (both new versions),
then remove them both.
When trying to play one of my DVD from the HD, a massage popped up saying:
“It appears that your system is not configured correctly for DVD……Additional software …..is required……get Inter Video DVD xPack”,
and it directs to Corel internet site.
My configuration is:
- MB ASUS P5Q-EM, all On-Board
- CPU Pentium E5400
- Memory 2GB
- WinXP pack3
- JR13
- CCCP
- HDMI connection to HD screen
- Optical cable to audio Receiver.
Guys, I need a simple, clear, proven if possible, recommendation for a simple folk like me....
what to do:
Re-install WinDVD ? PowerDVD?
Install old PowerDVD that came with the Optical DVD drive? (never installed in the past)
Remove + re-install JR13?
Upgrade to JR15?
Any dedicated drivers I could find? Where? How to install?
Thnx
Ilan
JimH:
You're missing the filters needed. CCCP usually works:
http://wiki.jrmediacenter.com/index.php/DVD_Playback
When you install it, don't install MPD, and turn off the task bar notifications for HAALI and FFDSHOW.
Ilan:
Sorry Jim, I could not follow you.
I already have CCCP installed.
Now what?
Please explain step by step: what to open, what checkbox to change, etc.
otherwise: should I reinstall CCCP? un-install then install again?
Thnx for the quick reply.
Ilan
JimH:
It's in the article. Install CCCP again. No need to uninstall.
Ilan:
Thnx Jim.
It works.
You are the man.
Ilan.
