Disappearing CD Rom?
« on: June 20, 2002, 03:14:57 pm »

When I insert a CD and autoplay fires up MJ8, cddb tries to identify the disk.  It fails, and then the CDROM dissappears from the machine (no drive in explorer or anywhere else).

MJ Version:  8.0.293
OS:  Windows XP
CDROM:  HP 9100

Any Suggestions?  When I first fired up MJ, it asked to download aspi drivers because XP did not come with them.  What files is it downloading and can I remove them and bring the computer back to the state it was before?  Could the CDDB components be causing the problem?  If so, can I turn CDDB off?

Thanks for the help...

It Might Be Good If You Upgraded to 8.0.302

Check The ASPI And See Whos You Have

Adaptec 4.70, ASPI Would Be Best (I Think)

It may also have something to do with

Bad CD-Rom Drive, Bad Cables
