Which OS are you running? If NT/2000/XP, aspi isn't required anyway. Start with the simplest possible scenario, then we can add complications to see where the problems start.

1. shut down all programs except MJ
2. place a new blank CD in the burner
3. take one track that you know plays correctly in MJ (test playing it all the way through first), select it and click "burn CD", choose audio mode
4. click Options/Settings, set speed to 2X, check "use generic driver", check "test mode", uncheck "decode mp3 files directly", uncheck "normalize", click Ok
5. leave "number of copies" set to 1 and choose 74 minute CD capacity
6. click the Start button
7. don't do anything else on the computer while the burn is taking place

Let us know if this works or what error message you get. If it works, try increasing the speed one notch at a time, leaving it in test mode so you don't ruin any CD's.

I tried all of your suggestions......however, the "use generic driver" was checked and grayed out.
Same failure, Same error code. Any more ideas?

Try downloading the 8.0.302 version that just came out today. It has native support for a lot more burners, maybe it will let you uncheck the "generic driver" option. I take it you are running Windows 2000 or XP right? Did the aspi install finally work ok (when logged in as administrator)?
Can you burn CD's successfully with other software on this drive?
