1. Is it possible to change what and how thumbnail text is displayed?  For instance, changing the elements that scroll, changing the font, making it wrap to two lines?  When I select "Thumbnail text" from the Album > Thumbnails menu, it displays an expression editor.

2. How about a balloon with the full album text when hovering over the thumbnail?

How about an enlarged image view when hovering over the thumbnail - the way it works when hovering over the image file actually in the media file list - i put album art in the same folder as the audio..  i like being able pop up those images when looking at the audio tracks, so it would be nice to be able to do that while browsing over thumbnails.

4. How about a directory style index on the right scroll bar organized by a defined tag, such as year or month-year, so that i can either click that to leap to that section of the album list or as im scrolling it pops up text that tells me where i'm at as i'm scrolling?  the index can expand into view when moving the cursor to the scroll bar.

1,2 & 4 are prompted by the fact that album titles in this standard album view are truncated - looks like its limited to 32 characters before truncating.

about 1: you can change a lot on the thumbnail text. i attached some i use. the only thing that cant be done is warpping  to two lines.

How did you get the rating to appear as stars, and not a number, in the text?  [Rating] just gives me the latter as an average.

And while on this, I noticed the scrolling mouse-over text will also list the "Most Played" song.  Pretty cool!  What expression does one use to replicate this?

about the most played, what do you want. a list with the most played tracks, one track per album? or do you have something else in mind?

That's clever!  I had to find what the mid() function does but that's really a nice elegant solution.  Thanks!  The referred thread also helped.

Re: Most Played.  When I hold the mouse over the thumbnail text of a given album, the display flips through several data fields and one of those is "Most Played" (a song, that is) in that particular album.  I would kind of like that displayed in the thumbnail text itself (I think) but am at a loss on how that's done.  Well, I kind of gather that it's the song with the greatest number of [Number of Plays] but I don't know how to code that for an Album.

when you see a view. at the top of the view, or the file list there is the name with a small triangle. when you hover your mouse over it you get something like
list by>
sort by>
thumbnails>

when you see that, go to thumbnails and there is a place to add thumbnail text.. that is where the fun starts..
