CD ROM vs CD Player for ripping
« on: October 10, 2010, 11:28:01 pm »

It is a very impressive program for playing back wav format music ripped
from CDs. Presently I am using a CD ROM (pioneer brand) attached to my desk top
running Windows 7 for ripping CDs.

I would like to ask whether it is possible to use my Ayre 7 CD player instead
Of the CD ROM for extracting the digital data. This means that digital output from the
CD Player will be will be connected to the sound card of the computer and use J river to
Convert the data to wave format and save in the hard disk.

It is possible or there is other ways of not using the computer CD ROM

Thanks

You will get a bit perfect copy of all the bits if you rip with Media Center in secure mode.  This is a perfect copy of the data on the disc.
