Workaround for Trackinfo template with integrated Visualization
« on: November 12, 2010, 10:15:12 am »

I found a workaround to display a Viz "within" a trackinfo template with detached display. Maybe not the best for everyday use, but I need my Trackinfo for some events to be displayed on a second monitor. So I'm happy to have at least a workaround.

  • First you need two zones.
  • Link them.
  • For zone 1 select "internal volume" (right click to the volume control speaker icon) and mute it.
  • In zone 1 chose to display the trackinfo template and detach the display.
  • For zone 2 select your favourite volume control.
  • Chose to display the visualization in zone 2 and place it onto your trackinfo display.
  • Zone 2 is the "master zone". You should do all action there (play/pause/add/delete etc), otherwise the Visualization may get hidden behind the trackinfo page.

It does not work, if the output of the zones go to the same digital output.

I have to use this workaround tomorrow. No time to do some longer tests. If anyone knows or guesses any problems I have missed, please let me know! Otherwise I'll let you know later if any problems occured for me...

Found a showstopper for this workaround half an hour before I was going to use it.

If playback is stopped and then started again, MC forgets to use different display views. It displays the trackinfo template for zone 1 and zone 2 :(

Is this a bug?
