ive been trying to add a library item search to my subtypes in theater view.. is this possible?

i'd like to be able to choose say subtype, movies, music videos, home videos, and when in there click on a search to be able to search all files with in that subtype. making it alot faster to find certain filesbasically be able to copy the search thats on main screen and be able to put that copy of search into all subtypes. making searches smaller and quicker.

 is this possible? thank you!

as far as i know that is not possible. search in theaterview is like the weather. it can be set in the root or as a category, but not further down the line.

Whats your opinion? i mean if your in music videos lets say and ya wanna find something fast there should be a search? correct?

another reason.. if in theaterview.  music videos and ya use your keyboard to go to a artist. it will do that. but what if you dont know the artist but know the name of the song. hence why i started this post. the other day we were in music videos. A friend wanted to hear a song named tik tok.. well i and everyone else here did not know the artist so we couldnt find it. so we had to literally scroll through 3700 names to find the song. took forever!

i actually agree. i think search in thv is much better than it was, but in the end it is not something that is used in this household. it would be much nicer if it would be somewhere there in the roller, and when you are in, lets say images>2008, you can go to search and search that part. now just scrolling through it is less work then going out and back to the root and try to find a search that will get the same from all your files... actually think its a great idea.

maybe a link to this thread in the mc 15 request thread? im sure jim red this thread already.. so when it made sense to him and it is easy to incorperate, its an easy run, but just in case..

edit: besides that.. and this is just what i expect.. no beta forum stuff, i think thv will take an other turn, and i have no idea of the direction., so who knows.

I'd love to see it to, especially if the search provided suggestions as you typed based the results in that specific view scheme.

not sure if you guys have tried search in theaterview. but if it's on all media files when ya search, which is the default... i wouldnt suggest if ya have large library. mine ALMOST falls on its face. but when i chose audio,image, or video then its really snappy. now if it were available in all subtypes it would be even snappier i'm assuming?!

one other nice addition when the search would be available from the roller, is that it works with the numbers of the remote, telephone style..

can any jriver guys tell me if this is possible and maybe we'll see it in the future?

just ran into a issue tonight where i was in audio in theaterview and wanted to load a certain song right away but i had to go back to home then search and search through video\images\and audio. would of been alot faster if i could search just in audio, and from audio.
