problem with iso-latin characters into ogg tags
« on: June 17, 2002, 12:47:08 pm »

I told about this problem in another thread but as the subject was in relation to the real problem I prefer to start a new one. The problem is the following:

1-
encode (-> ogg) and tag (album="La dernière année") a wav file with oggenc
import the ogg file into MJ -> album="La dernière année"
play it with Winamp -> album="La dernière année"

2-
encode (-> ogg) and tag (album="La dernière année") a wav file with MJ
play it with Winamp -> album="La dern"
check it with vorbiscomment -> album="La derni? ann?"

=> it seems that MJ has a problem with iso-latin characters into ogg tags.

Ogg tags should be represented in UTF-8, but MJ writes tags in Windows encoding.

This will be fixed in the next build.

Thanks.
