Remote problem
« on: October 04, 2010, 08:43:34 am »

For some reason when I hit the 'My Music' button on my remote, it does two things. One, it navigates to the audio screen in theatre view, as it should. But it also switches on mute.

In remote options mute does not have any button assigned to it. I also checked and the remote is only sending one code / signal with the button push.

This is a new problem, it worked fine before.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Bump & additional...

The 'My Music' button on the remote sends the code 0755_2626_114d. It mutes the volume in MC but not in the Windows Volume Contol.  Unlike the button on the remote labelled 'mute' which does actually effect Windows Volume Control.

Is this correct behaviour?

That's not correct behavior.  I can't reproduce the behavior here, maybe there's a hardware problem with the remote or some other remote software running on the system?

could it be that under the devices the hid is enabled instead of, or together with the mce remote?

Very possibly it's a very cheap item. But no matter how many times I hit the button to check the signal it sent, it always gave the same code. I never saw it give another.

They both were actually but it didn't make any difference when I fixed that.

I came up with a work around though. I used the edit button in the command list and added an extra mute signal to the button. So now the 'My Music' button gives two quick mute signals and cancels itself out.

Thanks for the assistance gentlemen.
