I don't know whether this is a feature of MJ or CDDB but only being able to lookup one track at a time is pretty frustrating...especially when doing it for tracks on a "various artist" CD (like one of the NOW CDs) as it always seems to come back with the album details that the track was released on instead of the "various" album I actually just ripped!  It makes for a lot of work vs EACs implementation using FreeDB where it gets the actual album instead and populates all the track information for me.

Is this something in the way I am using it, something in CDDB or something in MJ?

I'm not sure I understand. When I rip a cd, I put the audio cd in the try, Click on the CD node (since I have autoinsert disabled), and after the CDDB lookup I have all the tracks details filled in. At that point I select the tracks and then do Tools->Copy (Rip) CD and that's it... So either you must be doing something different or I don't understand your problem
