JR's DSP, Audio Renderer and DirectShow
« on: October 31, 2010, 05:14:05 pm »

Just a thought.....At present the JR DSP is only available under Direct Show when bound to the JR Audio Renderer which is not so good for those of us that want to use another audio renderer (in my case Reclock).  Would it be possible to have either:
* a selectable audio renderer or
* the JR DSP as a Direct Show transfrom filter instead of an Audio Renderer

I'd like to use JR's DSP settings for both audio and DirectShow audio but as I use Reclock I have to use FFDSHOW to do my DSP at present.

Thanks
Nathan

Sorry, but you'll have to use our renderer instead of Reclock if you want the features it provides.

I'll add that originally we turned down the road of trying to expose the functionality both ways, and it was a technical mine field.

I think you should ask for a 120 Hz display for Christmas ;)

Ummmm I "think" you are winding me up for the whole refresh rate discussion again (but as an Aussie I my have misread the humor....please don't tell me you are serious!!!!)

I would never wind you up.  It's not like I owe you or anything.

I accept cash, cheques etc if you change your mind  ;D

If so, couple of comments:
1) To my knowledge CE mfr of TV & AVR still only support signal transmission at 24, 50 and 60hz (though 3D will need twice this) not 120hz
2) Even if there was a 120hz transmission std for these devices, 120hz does little for PAL countries running at 50hz
3) The above is a moot point anyway as both MC and Reclock provides the ability to change the displays refresh rate to match that of the media being played (the advantage that Reclock gives is as with CE Devices it syncs the sound to the video refresh rate instead of the other way around that is typical with a PC).

While I'm happy with my current setup the point of the first post was they I would prefer to use MC's DSP and Reclock together.

I think the solution is more simple, jmone.  Just move here.   ;)  ;D
