Cover art / image inside files?
« on: June 15, 2002, 10:42:52 pm »

Hi,

I have the following question: if i check the option to include the cover art in the music files, will that affect my ability to convert my files (ape format) to mp3 files? Are their other negative side effects with doing this?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

you can not include cover art inside APE files, That Would Be External Cover Art.

MP3's Can Handle Internal Cover Art (ID3v2 Tags)

That Also Has Nothing To Do With Converting To Other Formats

Yes you can put images inside of APE files.  APE tagging is totally flexible.  However, we recommend using external images and letting MJ keep them in its specified cover art directory when possible -- this will give you a little smoother integration than if you put the images in the files.

And tags don't affect the audio data in any way, so you'll still be able to convert at any time just the same.

Take care.
