Help with MJ 8 - Can not play songs
« on: June 15, 2002, 11:31:47 am »

I just upgraded to MJ 8 on XP.
I imported three .ape files to the library to get going.
It started visuals in half of the screen. The music staretd but would
play one word per second. I finally got around to turn off the visuals.

Now the songs do NOT play. They get stuck with a text "Buffering 65%.

It is toatlly moronic to start with visualizations as default.
Can simple things be default so that idiots like me can start slow
and start using fancy things as we progress. I had nothing but
praise for the wonderful MJ 7.2

Some more info on how I went about installing 8. I uninstalled 7.2 and then downloaded 8 and installed. I did not see anywhere on the MJ web site what is the best way to upgrade from older versions. That would be big plus. There have been
lots of similar qustions on the forum about 7 and 8 installing/licensing. Instead of wasting time on each one just put it
on the web site in more obvious place. The web site seem to cater only to first time buyers.

Do you have it up and playing yet?  Are you sure the APE files are OK? (try a "Verify" with Monkey's Audio)  How about other formats?

Well, that's pretty subjective.  I'm an idiot, and I like seeing visualizations Next Page

Take care.
