Buffering: Minimum Hardware size.....how?
« on: November 29, 2010, 01:58:23 pm »

In WASAPI - Event Style, user can set buffering to minimum hardware size option. My question is how J River detects this value? I mean some hardware stated they can have down to 64 or 32 samples but some can even run down to even 8-16 or even 1 samples in some cases. Is it possible to change minimum hardware size to any specific ones in anyway at all? I'm just curious to know though.

The minimum hardware size is provided by the hardware itself.

There's no reason to pursue unusually low buffering values.  In general, you should select a value large enough to prevent audio hiccups.  The default should work well in most cases.

Thank you. You're right. Forcing to run below hardare will cause unstability  ;D
