Error message when burning CD's-MJ8.293
« on: June 14, 2002, 07:42:07 am »

When trying to burn an audio CD with MJ8.293, I get an error message that says Media Jukebox has caused an error in Media Jukebox.exe. Media Jukebox will now close.
If i ignore the message the CD will burn(and play). Of course I have to restart the program.
This happens in about 60% of the attempts to burn from MP3 to CDA.

Try unchecking the "direct mp3 decoding" option on the cd writer settings page. Also lower the speed a notch.

John T.
Too slow! Burn time Doubles when direct mp3 decoding is unchecked. I had ZERO problems with MJ7.2. There must be a better way.
I guess I ought to un-install and re-install 7.2.
Any other suggestions before I go back to the old version?

I didn't mean to permanently turn off direct mp3 decoding, I just suggested it as a way to diagnose where the problem was. Did it burn fine when you turned off the decoding? Are you using the same write speed as you used in version 7? And, see if the "generic driver" checkbox is at the same state as it was with version 7. In other words, if MJ was using the generic driver in version 7, make sure it's using it in version 8. Or if it wasn't using it, make sure it's not using it now.

Mj8 seems to be working fine now. I went thru the registry with easycleaner and deleted many obsolete entries. Maybe that helped . It's a mystery to me??
Anyway, MJ8 seems to run fine,,, now.....if I can just figure how to turn off that player window. Thanks
