Program Freezes Up
« on: June 14, 2002, 06:07:07 am »

Every now and then my Media Jukebox version 8 program completely freezes up. It seems to happen when it is retrieving artist/album/track info from the internet. Has anyone else experienced this problem (I am in a Windows 2000 environment) and do you know of any fixes?

A few questions:

What happens if you give MJ like 5 minutes? (just to test)

Does your computer freeze when using any other programs?

Can you visit websites with Internet Explorer?

Thanks Christine.

I noticed the same thing as Christine (also using Win2000).  Here are the steps that I went through when I saw it:

1. Rip/Encode CD
2. Select "standard" for looking up CD picture.
3. Wait for CD to eject (I have it auto eject on completion).
4. Change CD and close drive.
5. Close the "rip complete" (can't remember the exact phrase) dialog box

I normally try to close the dialog box before inserting the next CD, but a couple of times I messed up.  I'll try to see if this is reproducable when I get home tonight.

I did have problems with my system locking up quite a bit while playing Dungeon Siege, but that is about it.  Haven't tried waiting for extended periods of time or browsing the Internet...
