I have tried twice to create a playable mp3 cd for my personal mp3 player and when my mp3 player reads the cd it gives an error that it is not recorded
properly.  I have picked out the mp3's i wanted to record and clicked on the burn cd button and then clicked on data cd then ok and it seems like
everything is recording like it should, no errors come up.  But my mp3 player will not play it.  Can anyone advise on what i am doing wrong.  Thanks.

I have the Phillips Expanium MP3 player that reads CDR's and Audio CD's and most mornings I use MJ, exactly as you step by step describe, to make "Today's Music".  It burns while I have breakfast.
It plays on the Phillips while I pushbike to work then into the CD drive and play in MJ for the rest of the day.
My hardware is nothing special, I have WinME on the PC that burns and its a bit unstable, but I don't remember that last coaster that MJ burnt.

In short I have no idea why you're having the problems that you're having.
Can you get someone else to burn some MP3s onto a CD and see if that works in your player?
Or use some other software yourself to burn an MP3 CD to see if that helps isolate the problem.
Have you tried checking the "Use Generic Driver" box under Options?
Post some info about your system, your burner, your OS and version of MJ.

In MJ, Help, System Info - copy and paste here.  There are some clever folk around who can help I'm sure.

Can you explore the cd you produced through the Windows explorer?
Are your MP3 VBR? does your MP3 reader support VBR?

First make sure you have FINALIZED the disc. Sometimes finalizing is referred to as finishing or closing the disc.

My main use of MJ is for burning CDs from my libary and playing them back on my mp3/cd player. I do this without a problem but I have taken steps to insure universal compatibility.

(1) I bought a a CD/MP3 Player that was capable of handling multisession CDs. People writing to CD-R or CD-RW media all in one session should be okay with any player. People burning to an audio disc in more than one session will need a multisession CD/MP3 player such as the reasonably priced Audiovox Model CE150MP or the NAPA DAV311.

(2) A few models of MP3/CD players (some older Phillips players for one) cannot read discs longer than 74 minutes so I buy 74 minute CD-R/CD-RW discs to insure compatibility on any player.

(2) Likewise some CD/MP3 players require media that is made especially for audio. These discs will say "CD Audio" and have a "Compact Disc digital audio recordable" written logo.

(3) Some MP3/CD Players can only use CD-R and cannot handle CD-RW media.

Its possible...

If the file names are too long, and the truncated filenames are effectively identical the tracks will appear to burn, but you end up with a coaster.
