I am currently using the "Video" Tree list for about 10,000 Music Videos.  I create a new (root) level Tree Category called "Movies" and all the music videos show up in the group.  I want to be able to click on "Video" and only list Music Videos, then click on "Movies" and only list movies.  Both are in different drive locations.  I realize I can view and use the actual "Drive & Devices" to list each drive-folder.  And I though about creating a different LIbrary to switch to for Movies.

Is there any way to have a tree category list specific contents of different drive-location ?  I mean, it seems that there should be an easy way to specify the destination location(s) for a specific Tree Category.

Use Rules for file display to include/exclude whatever files you want to appear in the view.

Off-topic, rick, but out of curiosity, what image program do you use to create that neat (IMHO) "torn page" effect that you always seem to use when posting images?

Try creating a smartlist based on the directory or subdirectory.  I use it to split the vaious genres of music that I listen to.

Put all your movies in a folder called "- _Movies"
Put all your music videos in a folder called "- _Music Videos"

Make a view called "Video"
in this view under customize view/set rules for file display
Make a rule where filename (path) contains "- _Music Videos"

Make a view called "Movies"
in this view under customize view/set rules for file display
Make a rule where filename (path) contains "- _Movies"

The reason for the dash and the underscore is that the folder name needs to be very unique
so that the rule doesn't include unwanted files.
ie. if you just used the folder name movies, there could be a music video with the word movies in the name that
would show up. it is very unlikely that you have a music video with - _Movies included in the name.

This isn't necessary. Just use "begins with" instead of "contains" in the rules. Even using "contains" should be fine, as long as the value includes one or more "\".

I suppose having unique dashes and underscores may not be necessary for everyone.
I think I need them and I think I have to use "Contains' and not "begins with"
Because:
-I don't put the name of my videos in the filename(name), I put it in the containing folder.
 The filename(name) is usually a number or "Part 1", "Part 2", etc.
 This is for 'fill properties from filename'
-I have the same folder structure spread across multiple drive letters

I could be wrong though.
Either way its something to consider if videos aren't showing up where you want them.

That has nothing to do with Rules for file display. But it's not necessary to change folder names to accommodate that either. Fill properties from filename is a manual tool that you should be able to adapt to any folder structure you're applying it to. The only requirement is the files selected must have a consistent folder structure. It doesn't matter where in the pathname the target properties exist. So a directory rule might be something like: Video\Movies\[Name] ([Year]).
