Track Info & Slide Show
« on: June 10, 2002, 11:43:28 am »

New build of Slide Show is now available. One of the changes in new build is support for Track Info pages.

Also download new Track Info template called DJ 3, it uses new Slide Show plug-in.

Nikolay (now semi-permanently associated with the florist from 'Six Feet Under'),

how can we discover the version number of currently installed Slide Show plug-in?  In the future, will 'Check for updates' also check for updated plugins and skins?

You can find version number of the currently installed plug-in in plug-in manager ( Settings -> Plug-in Manager ).

In version 8.0 Check for updates only works for MJ and file types.

Hi Nikolay,

Got it and all works like a charm. Thanks

BTW What is the correct procedure to update? I stopped the plugin and then installed the package from the web page. The package installed successfully (or so it said) but I guess the slideshow dll was still loaded in memory (locked) and it did not get updated so the first attempt did not work. In case anybody else run into this, the symptoms were that the slideshow window in the template was stuck at "retrieving image list" . I then removed the dll from the visualization folder and reinstalled and eventually got it installed properly, but I suspect there is a better way

Nikolay,

This is great stuff and all, but is there a way to get it work with one of Mousemans' templates?

Mouseman can create templates specifically for Slide Show. It's very easy and I think he knows how to do that.
It's the same way the visualizations are done.

I bet you can do it yourself.

Nikolay - I guess the same goes for ZRocker's Lower-left / Lower-right mini-me skins?

This is easy, just right click on visualization window inside the skin and select Display Plugin -> Slide Show

I've got the latest version from plugins page (thanks Zrocker).

Where does Screensaver search for pictures ? I would like to submit some of the pictures I have so that they will show up in Screensaver.

Thanks !

Hey Urlybird,

if you use the standard Internet image pulll it searches at http://images.google.com  I don't think they accept images submission, but it's worth a try

With the web crawler you can point slideshow where you want

Also if you have the images local, you can organize a slideshow directly from your disk

Nikolay,

Just looked at the DJ 3 template (HTML) and was going to venture a guess that it is the 'Generated' that has the info that I would need. More specifically what follows...

If this is correct, could this same line be used to modify what I had requested above? I would rather not mess up and have MJ implode for something stupid on my behalf.
