Why does the latest Android market update to Gizmo say that you need to MC 16?

I didn't do that Gizmo update because i don't see MC 16 even available and i don't want to break what I currently have working. I love my Gizmo setup so that I can listen to my mp3 library at work.

v16 (in private beta) is only required for the new Scrobbling and play stats as you play on Gizmo.

All other functionality will work with v15.
