CDDB Access
« on: June 08, 2002, 01:42:57 pm »

Hi All,
I am having trouble connecting to CDDB.  I get the error message CDDB Server can't be found.  I have turned off my firewall and AdSubtract.  Nothing seems to work.  I can logon directly by using www.cddb.com, but that does not help me when I am trying to rip some music.

MJ 8.0.293
Micron Milenia Max GS
Memeory 512k
Windows ME
30 Gb disk.

I have deleted and reloaded MJ and King's Tag Grabber.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Murph

If you use a proxy server, check the advanced settings for CDDB in MJ.

if you close \ exit the fire wall it may still be blocking you.

uninstall the firewall and see what happens.

BTW: what firewall are you using?

do you have a proxy?

Hi Jim and King,
I tried both of you suggestions at one time (I know that's bad) and everything works now.
If you would be so nice.  Can you tell me where the CDDB definintions are located.  King, I use your CDDB clear option, but there seems to be more lurking out there.

Thanks so much,
Murph

King,
I think I used the wrong word.  I didn't really mean 'definitions', but 'files'.  I know that TagGrabber clears out one file, but are there more.  Possibly within MJ?
Thanks,
Murph
