i thought this would fix the behavior that occurs in the attached screen shot, but doesn't.  the attachment is a composite of the spacing while editing and after.  was it always this way that there is no kerning while editing in a field?  it seems that this started happening during 15.

perhaps this is the font, but because of the standard font size, and probably my eyes due to age, it's sometimes difficult to determine if there is an extra space in there while editing, especially if there's punctuation in the text.

is it possible to have the kerning done while editing?

What font and size do you have selected in Options > Tree & View > Font...

the default font that comes with MC - Segoe UI 9pt - i've never actually played with an alternate

i just noticed that this does not happen in other places i've looked so far, such as in Playing Now.  Editing a field there retains its relative spacing.  so far, the issue only is in the tag screen
