Adding new Connected services?
« on: February 28, 2011, 08:16:36 am »

Hi guys, just paid to upgrade to MC16, and I'm really happy with progress so far.

Being outside the US (and without using a proxy), we can't get much from HULU. In the UK we have separate on-line TV catch-up services for each channel, most notably the BBC iPlayer. These seem to operate in a similar way to HULU, and under WMC there is a bolt-on which accesses both HULU and the UK services (Hands Free MCE?)

SO the question is, what woul it take to build a Connected service that connects to iPlayer and the other UK services. Or more generally, is there a way of building a Connected service for any such streaming service?

Any ideas?

Thanks, and keep up the great work

Someone posted a link for streaming the 7 BBC radio channels - which I subsequently downloaded and use often. So links to the TV channels must follow the same conceptual lines.

I'll find the link and post it back here
