You want to hear something funny?
« on: June 04, 2002, 02:49:40 pm »

I first found MJ by a link on Microsoft's site about jukebox applications that support Windows Media.

Strange how they're advertising one product pushed me to a completely different product. Next Page

Doof,
That is funny, because I've asked them several times if they would list us.  Stony silence.

Do you remember how you found it?  I just looked and didn't find it.

Thanks for letting us know.

Here's the page I thought it might be on:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/service_provider/Software/default.asp#jukebox

We have a signed contract with Microsoft, BTW.

JimH, have you gone through Microsoft's application for inclusion as a listed partner process?  They tell you how here:

[from that page]

> Requirements:
> Produce software or hardware products that directly support Windows Media Technologies

Yes.

> License a Windows Media Software Development Kit (SDK)

Yes.

> If Internet/Intranet appliance product:  If your company's product is an Internet/Intranet appliance on a non-Windows platform it must have achieved certification under a Microsoft Windows Media License and Distribution Agreement.*

Yes, I think so.  I don't recall the name of the agreement, but we have the "white hat" status.  We can play their encrypted files.

They don't often answer my e-mail. If we need to jump through another hoop, we will, but we need to know which one.

I honestly don't remember how I found it. I was interested in WMP at the time, but not if it was going to force me to use WMA. And I was just searching all over for information on whether or not it would allow me to encode to MP3 (it was WMP7 at the time). And through all of my searches, I found a page that listed MJ along with a few others. I want to say there was even a screenshot... it may not have been on MS's site, but I really want to say it was (I'm 97% sure).
