I really like the idea of MJ being a general-purpose media (mp3, dvd, etc) handling tool, with great support for jriver and 3rd party plugins.

here are some ideas for plugins I would love to see for MJ (and maybe pay separately for).  

o  MP3 analyzer/scanner - identify & fix bad frames, trim silence from beginning or end of mp3 files
o  DVD ripping/extraction?
o  Beat-mixing, clever cross-fades, etc
o  Support for WinAmp plugins already written?

What other ideas do folks have for plugins?

Thanks for the ideas.  I plan to start a thread soon to ask for input on where we should take MJ next.  I just need time to talk with the team and to think about how to ask the question.

You're right that MJ is probably starting to serve as something like a hub.
