MC16.0.72 crashes playing a youtube video on-line
« on: April 25, 2011, 01:21:14 pm »

I can download and play youtube videos within MC, but when I try to play one still on-line, the video appears on the screen, a large * shows up below it, then the program crashes.  Using Win 7 and Firefox.  Crashes occur when playing "inside the browser" and when playing a file linked to the MC database.

More information -
The url stored in a tagged file looks like this -
http://v20.lscache3.c.youtube.com/videoplayback?sparams=id,expire,ip,ipbits,itag,algorithm,burst,factor,oc:U0hPSFdSV19FSkNOOV9PTEFH&fexp=903903,904510,910207&algorithm=throttle-factor&itag=18&ipbits=0&burst=40&sver=3&signature=4FD3362FB912EBE5C3C5B4A359B779A8EE16B48F.1FCCB20F1C6EDB71324E97953D782AD5B2C59679&expire=1303779600&key=yt1&ip=0.0.0.0&factor=1.25&id=e2e3b13a09b98d0e

The word Opening appears next to the * when the file is played. A media Center play bar can be viewed by placing the cursor at the top - just starting to play.

The crash message is "Media Center has stopped working."

The file is shown as an MP4 - size 0

I found the solution to my problem. I set the MP4 decoder to Windows Media Engine and have things working.
