Last.fm Plugin in MJ 14.0.166
« on: May 02, 2011, 07:29:26 am »

Hi There,

Long time user (Since MJ8), first time poster...

I've recently taken the plunge and upgraded from MJ12 to MJ14 - all looks good with one exception, the last.fm plugin just doesn't seem to work properly.

I've checked all the settings etc. and it seems "Run the plugin when media centre starts" doesn't remain active when I tick it (when I next go into the options dialogue this is unticked) and as such the plugin is not running when I run MJ.

Is there a fix/workaround for this (old version of the plugin?) - I'm a big last.fm user and it would be a real shame if I couldn't continue to upload my listenings.

Appreciate any help you can give...

Mark

Anyone???

This is really annoying as it worked perfectly in the previous version.

If there's no hope with getting the plugin working in v14 is it possible to convert a database back for use with old versions?

You should have all four "General" options ticked:

If the "Run the plugin..." option does not stick possibly the plugin does not show up as "always active" for some reason (Tools > Plug-in Manager > Interface > Last.fm > Mode...):

You might be able to fix that by editing the Windows registry:

These two values should be "1".

To edit the values you can either use Regedit or create a reg file that can apply the change. Paste the following code to a new text file.

Code: [Select]
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Media Jukebox 14\Plugins\Interface\last.fm]
"PluginMode"=dword:00000001
"Active"=dword:00000001

Change the filename extension to .reg and run the file by double-clicking it. You must have administrator rights.

No joy I'm afraid, I had to create the DWORDS as they didn't previously exist, but it didn't solve it.

Grrrr etc.

Any other ideas anyone?

Oh and it does show as always active. I don't really understand this one, is there any logging?

Media Center 16 has native Last.fm support, including playback of Last.fm radio if you happen to be a subscriber.

Thanks for that, but so did media jukebox 12 (not the subscription bit - but I've never needed that), so how comes theres this bug in 14???
