encoding problems

when i encode an mp3 file to a different bitrate then occasionally the song will be screwed up and play really really fast.....it seems to be more when i encode to a higher bitrate but can be both......what can i do??

it is prob the way the orginal file was encoded

if the file was encoded with another encoder it may not have a sample rate of 44.1 Khz. if not then the speed may increase.

what was the sample rate of the orginal file?

yea that song had a sample rate of 32.0khz so thats why..... 8)
