auto playlist of maximum length?
« on: April 02, 2003, 04:48:15 am »

Does MJ8 have the ability to create an automatic random playlist from your collection with a specified maximum length? The major audio players have this feature, and it's handy for sending a random collection to a cd, md, mp3 player...

The closest thing to it would be to use smartlists and learn how to set up randomizing criteria (rules). See the v8 Help file.

I've been reading that, but I can't figure out ow to specify a total length for the playlist. I can see that you can filter tracks by length, but not the whole list.

Am I being dumb?  ?

Hell no your not....

In MC9 the limiter is called "limit", in MJ8 it is "~t" (limit to "t" minutes). Do a search in Help for "Smartlist Rules>Search Modifiers".

Cool. I found it now! I didn't see it before because it's further down with "Other modifiers".

Thanks for your help and patience!
