Foreign characters not displayed properly

I have been trying MC 16 on different machines.  However, one machine does not seem to show Chinese Characters .  I was wondering whether there is any setting that relates with this since it seems to work fine in WinXP but not Win7?

Go to Options > Tree & View > Select font

and change to Tahoma or another that can display Chinese characters
