Open Drive Failed, etc. with MJ 8.0.289
« on: May 31, 2002, 04:50:44 am »

I'm still cant rip after upgrading from MJ 7.  I get the message (as with earlier versions)  "Open Drive Failed. Parameter is out of range." Followed by "Read track failed.  Drive is not opened."  I'm running Win 98 on a P4 system (ASUS P4T-E) with two IDE Plextor 24X10X40A drives.  It works on other machines, just not this one.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx,

Chris

On our ASPI help page you'll find a link to an aspi checking program from Adaptec:
http://www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/aspi.html

If you send me an email, I'll send you a test program that may help me troubleshoot the problem. Please include your system info (from MJ's Help/System Info... menu selection) in the email.

Thanks,

I get this error consistantly in rel 8.0.314.

I have two identical Line-On 32x12x40 cdrw drives with latest firmware loaded.
If I put a cd in each drive, I get Open Drive Failed, Parameter out of Range on either cd when trying to Rip.
If I eject one cd, It rips without any problem.

Windows 98SE.
