I have a number of albums that have individual artists for each track. When I view the albums it throws up the cover art by the number of artists on the album.

I have checked the tags on each of the "albums" and the album tags are indentical......should it not then only show the one album? If I import the library to my iPhone it also shows the multiple album covers.

Hope someone can throw show light on my issue.

Frustrating isn't it? Here's the solution.

For each track:

1. Album Title should be the same.

2. Album Artist: Use "Various"

3. Use the actual artist under Track Artist.

That will take care of the mutiple covers.

RE: 2. - some albums have an actual album artist, with different track artists.  trance/house albums have a lot of this.  a remix by one DJ (album artist) of tracks by other DJ's (track artist).

so, it doesn't have to be "various" for this to work (I think) it just has to be the same for all tracks.

So I can now have my single album but loose the ability to sort the by artist

I may have missed something I can not see a Track Artist in the tags?? .... "3. Use the actual artist under Track Artist." 

I am using 16.0.136.

By "track" Artist he means just the Artist that has been tagged for each individual track. It is the plain Artist tag.

MC has two "Artist" related tags that are intended to be tagged.

- The plain Artist tag is always needed.
- Album Artist is an additional tag that can be filled if you want to tag a specific name for the Album Artist

The values of these two tags are used when MC determines what to show in the third, automatically filled, Album Artist (auto) tag field. By default albums are grouped by using the Album Artist (auto) and Album tags. However, you can configure additional views or change the default views to match your taste and specific needs. For example, one additional view could could be a view that groups albums by (track) Artist and Album and does not show the tracks from other artists if the album is a "various artists" album.

Man this program is powerful. Layers and layers of features and function.

I will get to implement the Album Artist to the Albums with multiple artists hopefully during the next week.

Will this flow thru to the iPhone export where it will now only show one album cover but have all the songs? Will the iPhone then be able to sort that modified album in JR by artist?
