Converting WAV to FLAC?
« on: August 15, 2011, 11:52:27 am »

Just received my first Reference Recordings HRx disk with 5GB of 176/24 WAV files. Can't seem to tag these files so I thought the best thing to do would be to convert to FLAC and then add the metadata. Two questions:

1: Any risk/concern for loss of quality/fidelity converting from WAV to FLAC?

2: How can I convert WAV to FLAC in FRMC? I cant seem to figure this out?

Thanks :)

You can tag WAV using MC but you have to install a plugin first: http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/WAV_%26_AIFF_Tagging

You can convert to FLAC.

Do observe that there is no tagging standard for WAV.
FLAC does have a standard.
This makes FLAC portable.
