When I try to get the new version from "check for updates" MJ tells me that there is a new version. When I press 'download" I get the message "failed to connect to a server".
I also cannor find the newest version on the website. Whereever I look, I only can get to version 7.2.
Where can I get the newest version???

I just downloaded using the link in this thread, I had the same problem downloading.

What is the procedure in upgrading to this release?
I am running 80.280 and according to the post I have to forward my reciept to them.
I did that, how do I install it when I get it?

A side issue...  WHen I click on an MPG file MJ opens up but doesn't load the video like it does with MP3 and other audio formats.... Other players do work that way, is there a problem?

Obviously there must be a reason for all of this, as it is definitely not the pure & simple way we are all used to.  Could someone please explain to us all why it is being done this way & why couldn't new licences (& why do we need them) just be sent out to all concerned?

Regards Rusty

Rusty,
Logical reasons (not all of which you will find important)

1.  We have improved licensing to solve old problems.
2.  We have tightened licensing because of piracy.
3.  MJ is still in beta.
4.  MJ is now 8.0, not 7.2.  Causes problems.
5.  It is Memorial Day Weekend here in the U.S.A.  That's good.
6.  We would like to bring you a seamless experience.  We're still working on it.

etc., etc., etc.

PLEASE be patient for a few days.  Life will be good again soon.

The Haitians who visited Minneapolis sang a song that was about life and how good it was.  It was in a form of reply to someone who complained about how things were, and the song was a reply to each complaint, and went on to say things like "television, it's good".  I think the song was called "Le bon".  It's good.  It's all good.  Even the curves life can send you are good.

Le Bon.

"It's good. It's all good. Even the curves life can send you are good."
How come nobody has to take fathering lessons to be one? It should be a requirement. Not really. What I mean is that I have been one for more than 19 years and still don't have a clue what I am doing.
I was trying to explain to my 15 and almost 16 year old son that if you concentrate on what you don't have, that's all you'll ever see. I was completely winging it. On-the-fly advice. Is it full of bugs? How will I ever know? More importantly, how will I ever know in time to wing it some more if all goes awry? I am completely unprepared for this.

C8,

Seems spot on to me.  You don't need fathering lessons.  You're doing the right thing.  I know too well how much a teenager can make you doubt yourself.

Maybe the best thing anyone ever said to me about this (in my hour of need) was that they hear you, even though they pretend not to.  Your words will have the effect you're trying for some day.

Sent off email this morning with receipt details & still no reply from MJ ... Just wondering how long all this is going to take?

Also with ones receipt details, exactly what do you want ... a copy of the complete licence that was sent out originally or just the few lines that actually represent the receipt?

Regards Rusty (DownUnder in Australia).

KingSparta,
That's funny. Ironically, that same son is sitting next to me at this moment singing "War Pigs" as loud as he can.
Sorry Rusty and/or Robert. Didn't mean to crash your thread. The "it's all good" line struck a chord.
And thanks, JimH for the words of support. I needed them.
